Why do you paint?
For exactly the same reason I breathe.
That’s not an answer.
There isn’t any answer.
How long hasn’t there been any answer?
As long as I can remember.
And how long have you written?
As long as I can remember.
I mean poetry.
So do I.
(e.e. cummings)
1. This weeks 'eliza and madelyn' has me aching ~ positively aching to leap into my car for a splendid road trip ~ I think this morning I will work on a few mix cd's with worthy, ebullient road trip songs to get me in the mood. Music and coffee on a Sunday, how perfect!
2. Things are growing in my life like wildflowers right now. I think I need to go on a hat buying expedition to celebrate.
3. See that lovely 'greenly leaping' photo above? I took a series of these images for a 'kind kindred' post I wrote this week. I have to tell you right now I am incredibly proud of this article and you can read it (I would be so so honored if you would) by visiting right here.
4. I am moving soon (onward I go) and sketching a palette of colors for my new home. Think bone, sailors, soul, Irish moss and myths, grapevines and gypsy jazz...alchemy of course. (perhaps a splash of carmine) ~
5. Tonight homemade grilled veggie pizza with the Oscars! And a lovely bottle of Malbec ~ cupcakes as well. (my daughter Tess brings home the most magical teeny tiny cupcakes from her work ~ 'lavender,' 'red velvet' and banana cream pie') Speaking of the Oscars have you seen this film? No? You must!
6. I drive this wonderful lady named Hilda around each week helping her shop for groceries and run errands. She is really quite hysterical and has me laughing like champagne all the time. This week she announced to me quite loudly in the fruit section of the market that she didn't want prunes after all....she needed sex, it had been long enough, 16 years to be exact, and she was tired of going without. Scandalous!!! That's Hilda. I adore her.
7. I know I have said it before and I will say it again. I. Am. Head. Over. Heals. In. Love. With. My. Life ~ and this! dear dear Andrew Bird

I recently had a serious conversation with a friend of mine. I love her but she can be sarcastic and her sense of humor had been annoying me a lot lately...so I did, i tried to use kind words to put a stop to was bringing me down. I feel better. lighter now.
ReplyDeleteCan I take Hilda to the store? she sounds like a fun person to be around.
Have a lovely weekend Maddie,
Gaby
well I sense Gaby, your sweet, kind words will
ReplyDeletenot only make you feel lighter but actually
uplift your friend...
she will be more aware of her words and possibly
never intended or even quite realized her energy
so your gentle mirroring will uplift so many people!
