you can keep your pearls, I prefer a bouquet of garlic

Recently I read in a book that humans hold space in their souls for color.  Well, I can testify! Seriously, just look at the color in this bouquet of red russian garlic I found at Mary's garden this morning.  Papery poppy, wind rippled pollen, sand dune gold, a swirl of incense indigo.  My soul aches as if it is in the presence of physical love.

Simply divine.  You may keep your diamonds and pearls.  I shall have a bouquet of garlic.

It's been such a lovely day so far.  I spotted a hummingbird in my garden with a violet throat and a bumper sticker on a car that said 'I owls.'  I took some rather pretty shots of my bouquet of garlic and as I type these words, a peach/cardamom crumble is bubbling away in the oven.

And, oh yes, I  discovered a charming film the other evening and am presently reading a book that ...oh, has me utterly, completely, magically in thrall, quickens my heart I have to say.

'Off the coast of Victoria was a wife of a lighthouse keeper who became addicted to kite flying.'

and on that note, (flying)

lots of love,

Maddie

one more thing

it's a bit hard not to wax ebullient with joy
but look LOOK where I am teaching Persisting Soul this September!
Who wants to come with me?
