Romeo

My daughter Tess fell in love with this one.

Before I could say 'oh I don't think so' names were being named. Everyone was completely besotted (especially my son Noah who was chiming in with his 'I will clean up all the poop and help walk him every day and help pay for the vet bill too' promises)

I tried, really tried to show some restraint.  I pretended not to see his adorable little wiggle, or feel deeply moved with his tiny whimpers at night or care a bean about all those puppy kisses which he handed out so freely.

To be 100 percent honest though, I was falling in love with remarkable speed.

In my head I would consider the possibilities ...'Let's say we keep this puppy...' and 'Maybe we could just...' and 'really, he isn't so very big at all...'

And, well, you know how these things go.

His name is Romeo.
