Don't touch my poems! It's my one thing!

french press of coffee, papaya and almonds
and a song from the evening’s party
spins around and around in my head
(everyone talking rapidly all together
for hours while things happen)
i am an unspeaking girl today
aflutter with mischief in my eyes
happiness
softer than birds stirring in my chest
(greenly twittering) faintly aspiring
to the hurdy gurdy soundtrack
shooting stars are probably remembering orange lovers
still wondering (like an alarm clock)
and somebody beautiful
flings playful nonsense outside in the park
while elephants converse somewhere in India.
(I can hear the surprises coming just like a jazz band)

Romeo ate my poem. I caught him exactly in the act ~ my journal shredded all over the floor, my latest poem a mess of mush in his mouth. Poetic but ewwwww! I was absolutely transfixed with shock.  What's my one rule?

Don't touch my poems! It's my one thing!!!

So that is why Romeo was not invited on my morning meander down to the sea earlier this lovely day to shoot some photo's for 'words to shoot by.'

Roxy would never do such a thing.  She is a very well behaved girl.

This morning ~

~ Seu Jorge adds magic to a spectacular day (defeats gloriously any ill will towards naughty puppies)

~ feeling really happy because I figured out what I wanted and learned how to ask for it (non profit = a wholehearted 'yes!!!')

~ maple donuts are a fabulous Sunday morning breakfast (twist my arm)

~  Madelyn Mulvaney calls it a must read

~ I have a crush on Paul Rudd.  A real chick magnet that one.

~ ' my sweet muse' revving up for February 1st with a special Valentine's day post for a little extra shimmer

Happy Sunday chickadees!

love, always

  1. Millie once ate my poems. They were typed on watercolor paper and it was somehow irresistible i guess. The texture...the words...
I was in such shock that I couldn't even get mad. But I still wonder what magic rested there that lives inside of her never to be read aloud...

These photos take my breath away.

  3. Yoohoo! for the above post by Galia Alena! I think you're both, Madelyn! Also, just wanted to say that I LOVE Christopher Moore - his book 'Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff' is still one of my all-time favourites! Oh yeah, I've been meaning to tell you for a few weeks now that I finished reading Eucalyptus by Murray Bail just before Christmas as recommended by your lovely self and I found it to be breathtaking. Thanks so much for the recommendation and your constant inspiration. I'm presently reading Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey and really enjoying it so far. Ok, that's enough from me for now! Happy Day XX

  5. maddie! a year or so ago when i needed to remember the joy... my cousin shared the "Where in the world is Matt?!" dancing videos and at that time he reminded me that Matt is a relative of mine (although never having met him) he's cousin to a cousin. and that brought me so much joy in learning new family... and seeing such freedom of expression in that side of my family too. it truly was a remarkable moment of realization for myself and my two brothers. (a turning point, if you will) so, it makes me happy to see him here. on your beautiful site too :) xo
