and oh sunlight!
By the way, last night I rolled my leggings above my kneecaps and slipped into the mountain stream near our house to splash around with the dogs and of course I took a few photo's. Apparently Michael was also inspired to snap a few of his own and I quite like this hunchback portrait of me.
And then when he got bored with that (because I refused to co-operate and face the camera for a proper shot) he set up a picnic for us on a rock by the stream.
A very lovely and simple picnic that you might want to consider packing up in a basket for yourself one day. A perfect baguette, a round of creamy french Brie, one sublime garden tomato, a handful of freshly picked basil aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...
Ta! Da! a jar of my very own Whiskey Plum (licious) jam.
Isn't it beautiful? I made it yesterday with the first harvest of plums and a generous pour of 12 year old whiskey added at the very end for magnificence. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to make a plum jam but I was pondering something different, something je ne sais quoi to add that would make everyone stand up and cheer. And not a moment too soon Michael came up with the idea of adding Whiskey.
I am thrilled with how it turned out ~ tart and plummy with a whiskey swirl throughout that makes your taste buds do a wild dance of delight.
Oh and speaking of thrilled! I am thrilled to announce my newest offering in the daily mails ~ and oh Sunlight.
Go see! Hope to see you there September first bright and early!
